I want to tell you a little bit about myself and why I continue to develop and teach this work. In 1993, after drumming and dancing for several years, I joined a performing company that coined the term 'action drumming'. I performed and developed work extensively with them in a style that combined highly physical choreography and layered rhythms. During that time I not only found a natural home with the marriage of movement and rhythm, but also developed a passion and belief in the power of sound, movement & breath. I began to read books, seek out teachers, explore and discover more about it on both scientific and spiritual levels. The journey then took me into somatic therapies, counseling and spiritual traditions.

What I continue to learn is that all of it is connected.

Each of us is connected to each other and this larger universal orchestra of life. It is our journey to remember, question and become more aware of it. This work offers insight to connect the dots on a personal level and gives us tools for cultivating awareness and compassion. It is a practice of awareness, questioning & learning that is understood through the quantitative sciences and the wisdom of our own selves.

I have been fortunate to teach in a wide range of communities and to learn from those that have taken my workshops. I am grateful to each one of them because they are in turn my teacher, as well as the teachers I have sought out. My desire is to continue to

grow within and develop this work while exploring the intersections of body, breath, movement, rhythm, voice, human interplay and ancient living traditions. To share my experience and passion for this is an amazing gift that I hope to continually give and receive.

“Our only job in every situation is to merely let go of our resistance to love.”
