This work has been used therapeutically in group and one on one sessions. The power of the body in motion, voice, witnessing, vulnerability, awareness and reflection combined with intentional guidance of the process is unmistakeable. Youth and adults have found access to personal expression connected to the diverse range of human emotions touched upon by the techniques and nature of this work. Witnessing and non-verbal communication play significant roles as does the physicality of the movement and specific techniques for finding the edges of individual comfort zones. There are also more subtle affects through the use of breath, voice and guided movement meditations. Individuals can develop new awarenesses for witnessing their thought processes, conditioned responses to stimulus, the nature of internal emotional landscapes, established social dynamics and finding their own curiosity again. The depth of this work is served by a desire to cultivate awareness, ask questions, explore vulnerability and trust in the strong and supportive container of the workshop space.
